INTRODUCING
As a long-time advertising executive, brand storytelling is what I do for a living. And my first screenplay is a story I've wanted to tell for a long time! It's about Brenda Watters, a small town Texas high school twirler who wants nothing more than to be famous when she gets the opportunity to lead the ELLE Magazine sponsored annual Adolphus Children’s holiday parade in Dallas, Texas and ignites a nationwide fashion frenzy with her unique outfit. BUT, her alcoholic mother wants her to finish high school instead of becoming a freshly minted magazine model who can be exploited by the corrupt fashion industry.
With the trajectory of Brenda's entire life hanging in the balance, Brenda must choose between finishing high school and fulfilling her family’s expectations. Or, becoming ELLE’s new world-famous twirling sensation and fashion icon, but risk being today’s “hotness” that turns into tomorrow’s “notness.”
This feature film is filled with fearless optimism, a powerful friendship, amazing leadership, and a life trajectory that requires Brenda to take brave steps with no backing down even if things get a little… well, out of sequence.
With my wish to have Morgan Fairchild cast as Brenda's grandmother LaVesta, please click on her photo to enjoy her cameo take on Out of Sequins!
Thank you to screenplay collaborator David Santos and logo designer Joe Stanfa for your brilliant creativity!
